 In the car, in place of a differential set is not large, mechanical blokerovku axes. Driving wheels are always in tight coupling, and a rotation mechanism gently turns off all or part of that axis, which should have a smaller number of revolutions that would effectively move along the given trajectory. Even if one wheel gets on a slippery surface, you still will rotate all of the leading wheels, two or four.
